You can register for a vocal audition, a dance audition, or both.

All auditions will be held at The Dance Collective, 1 Glen Road Plaza, West Lebanon, NH.

Vocal

Saturday, April 16

1:00 - 2:00 PM, 2:00 - 3:00 PM or 3:00-4:00 PM 

Sunday, April 17

1:00 - 2:00 PM, 2:00 - 3:00 PM or 3:00 - 4:00PM

Register for one, 60-minute slot (8 people per slot).

Auditioners will perform their audition song (see below for info on what to prepare); they will also learn a simple dance and may be asked to read from the script.

In addition to doing the vocal audition, it is recommended that you also register for a dance audition. Audition material will be geared for a range of ability levels, from non-dancer to intermediate. Dancers who do not sing are welcome to register only for a dance audition.

Callbacks

Tuesday, April 19 7:00-9:00 PM

Everyone who is called back is needed for the entire time; please come prepared to sing, read from the script and to move.

If you are not available for any of these audition times, please email ncctetc@gmail.com for an alternate time. We have limited slots available but will make an effort to see all potential cast members prior to callbacks.

ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL EXPIRE ON APRIL 14 at 6:00pm. After that time please call 802-280-5047 and leave your contact information. If audition slots are still available you will be contacted.

Auditioners should:

• Prepare 32 measures of a musical theatre song (not from The Secret Garden) appropriate for your vocal range.
• Bring a copy of your music in the correct key with any changes, starting and stopping points clearly indicated. Music should be taped in order or otherwise arranged for no ambiguity/lost pages and for ease of reading by the accompanist.
• When you register for an audition time you will be asked to note all of your known and potential conflicts with the current rehearsal schedule. Availability will be a consideration in casting decisions so please fill this out with as much detail as you can.   
• A headshot is not required but you are welcome to bring one to the audition if you have one.   
• For the dance audition, dress in comfortable clothing that shows your body (nothing baggy) and wear sneakers or other flexible-soled shoes; dance wear is fine if you have it.

No a capella auditions will be heard.                                            

Children: We are looking for children ages 7-12 to play the roles of Mary and Colin. Both roles require strong singers and actors; Mary is a lead role and will be required at most rehearsals.  We are also casting a small group of children in the same age range to sing and dance. Depending on turnout at auditions, we may choose to double cast these roles. Parents of actors will be asked to take turns supervising at rehearsals when children are called.

PERFORMANCES

July 8, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16 Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 and Sunday at 2:00. Strike (entire company called) follows 7/16 performance. All performances are at Lebanon Opera House, Lebanon, NH

All cast members will pay a $20 materials fee to cover the cost of librettos and scripts.

About the Show: The artistic team is looking to cast a diverse, spirited, risk-taking ensemble to tell this classic story of 11 year-old Mary Lennox who is orphaned in India and returns to Yorkshire to live with her embittered, reclusive uncle Archibald and his invalid son Colin. The Yorkshire estate's many wonders include a magic garden which beckons the children. The story also includes the  "Dreamers," ethereal beings that represent memories from Mary and Archie’s past and guide them to a new life full of forgiveness and love. The Secret Garden is truly an ensemble piece in which every performer gets to shine.
